Style of Music:
After years of study in classical, jazz, and composition and even more years in rock and country bands Lisle embarked on a solo career. With soaring melodies, complex harmonies, and a little rock-n-roll attitude his original music draws on his past studies plus celtic and bluegrass influences (and a sense of humor) to create a style that has thrilled audiences from around the nation.
Recordings:

Lisle's first solo C.D., On A Clear Day, features original compositions as well as original arrangements of traditional Scottish and American tunes, all on solo guitar. This critically acclaimed C.D. has sold to audiences around the world and has been featured in Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine with "Ye Banks and Braes" transcribed and recorded on the companion C.D.. Tom Gannaway, editor of Fingerstyle Guitar wrote, "Lisle Crowley takes us through a melodic and harmonic workout on the Scottish tune, Ye Banks and Braes. His beautiful treatment of the piece will satisfy both the beginner and the more advanced player."
Other critics have said about On A Clear Day:

"After listening to this compact disc, I found myself having a hard time turning it off."

"On a scale of 1 to 10 it ranks a 9 and is an excellent first release."

"I truly believe that other listeners will find Lisle Crowley's music as addictive as I have."

"Crowley has combined exceptional classical technique with a fresh compositional style that is a pleasure to hear. His playing is reminiscent of the styles of Leo Kottke or Michael Hedges."
